MTV UNPLUGGED: BASTILLE

The Brief

MTV approached us to help them create a seminal performance moment with Bastille for their MTV Unplugged 2021 series. The event had to feel true and engaging to those watching live at the venue, but also be suitable for high-end TV production.

What we did

For the venue we chose Porchester Hall – a vintage building that would add suitable grandeur to the event. We worked with the band to find an aesthetic that would run throughout: choosing Nirvana’s 1993 MTV Unplugged in New York as a creative anchor. With this in mind we replicated the atmospheric lighting, textured rugs and stripped-back stage dressing synonymous with that performance.

Bastille rewarded 400 fans that pre-ordered their new album with an intimate, relaxed gig that continues to be showcased across the MTV channels.
